Saturday June 28th 2011, Dojo Kamakura Bonaire / HFC Bonaire won 2 silver medals in Curacao during the MMA championships, they were coached by sensei Ron Soechit (MMA Bonaire). We are proud to say that Leo Engelhart (Bonaire) and Joello Winklaar (Bonaire) got the 2nd place in the categories -91 kg & -71 kg. Paulo Carbagal (Peru) fought extremely well, lost but deserves a second chance in a MMA rematch during Curacao Rumble

Ron Soechit, a top trainer and a former champion, has been training a group of 8-10 Bonairians MMA. The group started a few months ago and make a lot of progress. The Fighters alreay have experience in Boxing & Kickboxing but now Ground Fighting has been added to it. 4 Fighters will particpate in the first MMA event on Curacao on June 18. Dojo Kamakura Bonaire & Health & Fitness Center is proud of this achievement. After this event we keep on training for more Boxing, Kicboxing and MMA events. Our goal is to motivate more people to join all martial arts classes which include Boxing, Kickboxing & MMA

On May 30th, Kyle Janzen & Mikel Mercera fought a boxing match on Curacao; "The Papa Wilson Godett Trophee" Both Fighters did not win but were admired by their persistence. We thank Mikel, Kyle and their coach Michaelsen Martijn for defending Kamakura Bonaire. We can say - "we were there, but where were you?"
